About the Lodge

Since 1977 Bramcote Lodge has always been an exceptional warm and welcoming Lodge. We meet at the Chilwell Masonic Hall, at the corner of High Road and Meadow lane Chilwell, on the second Thursday of the month in January, February, March, April, September and November, (our Installation meeting.)
Normally, the meetings start at 1800hrs, except for the Installation meeting when it starts at 1700hrs. Both at the meeting and the sit-down meal afterwards, you will experience comradeship and bonhomie with quality ritual. At the meal, good food, good companionship and a relaxed and happy environment prevails, with good natured humour and friendly banter. We always welcome, and look after our visitors, some of whom like it so much they return time after time as Permanently Invited Guests (PIG's!)
There is a wide range of ages within the Lodge. From men in their early 20's to those who wish they still were! Brethren of Bramcote Lodge are drawn from all walks of life. Some are Servicemen and ex-servicemen from the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. Some from local industries around the surrounding area, and even further afield, some are self-employed while others are retired.
Within Bramcote Lodge we also have members who originated from around the country and further, not just the local Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire area. We have members originally from London, Portsmouth, Coventry, Kent, Isle of Wight, Greece, Italy, Brazil, the U.S.A. and New Zealand! So as a Lodge, we are a true melting pot of cultures, with brethren from diverse backgrounds and professions. What we all have in common are the shared values of respect, friendship, honour and brotherhood, striving to contribute to making good men better.

Lodge History

On the history of the Lodge, about 50% of the founders were golfers most of whom were members at Beeston Fields, Chilwell Manor or Erewash.
Most lived in the Beeston area and as Beeston and Chilwell (Hall) were already Lodges, Bramcote was suggested and approved. The old church tower, off Town Street, being used as the logo. The golfing members obviously felt they needed to lower their handicaps as the 2nd Initiate after the consecration was a golf professional!
