On Sunday 7th September, W Bro Graham Riche took on the Trent Bridge Community Zipwire Challenge, flying through the air 25 metres off the ground at 40mph, all with a TLC teddy bear in his hand.

W Bro Graham took on the challenge to promote Nottinghamshire Freemasonry as well as raising funds for local community projects, including Forget Me Notts, who support individuals living with dementia and their carers, and Notts In Mind, supporting women's physical and mental wellbeing.

Thankfully the weather was kind for all who entrants at the event, including a participant whose daughter received a TLC teddy bear 13 years ago when she had an unexpected visit to hospital. Marie Gill informed W Bro Graham that even though her daughter's bear sadly lost an eye many years ago, she has been performing first aid on Poorly Bear when necessary by putting a plaster over his injury, and he is loved as much today as he was the day he met Megan, her daughter. W Bro Graham was immensely proud to hear that Freemasonry engages with our community, especially TLC and how it is embraced by families.

To support W Bro Graham while he flew threw the air, members of Radcliffe with Hemlock Stone Lodge No 5313 arrived to cheer him on, all with their feet firmly on the ground. Thankfully, everyone landed safely and managed to raise money for very worthy causes.

At time of publishing, W Bro Graham has raised just under £3000 on his JustGiving page as well as over £500 by Gift Aid, an absolutely incredible effort to support the charities. But it does not end there!! Anyone who wishes to donate to W Bro Graham's JustGiving page can use the link:

Any donations would be gratefully received and passed to deserving causes.

A huge congratulations to W Bro Graham, who can now officially claim to be a "Zipper", both for raising funds for local charities and helping to promote Nottinghamshire Freemasonry to the community for the day. We are all immensely proud of your efforts.
