Saturday 20th September 2025 saw the Commemorative Order of St Thomas of Acon make its Pilgrimage to Canterbury Cathedral
As arranged by the MW Grand Master, every year the weather shone upon us and at times the Sun was very strong and the Cathedral, both exterior and interior, was spectacular

Especially poignant was the area within the Cathedral which marked the spot where the Archbishop of Canterbury Thomas Becket, was assassinated

After an excellent Buffet lunch attended by 137 Sir Knights and their partners/family, over 200 attended the Church service in the Eastern Crypt, which was a very moving experience and looks like a new record attendance

The order of service is attached here
As part of the service, the Grand Master Sir Philip of Hamilton and the Grand Prior Sir Harry of Benfro presented a cheque to the Cathedral in the sum of £4000, which was gratefully received

Following the service there was more time for the attendees to enjoy the Cathedral and its grounds, and some are pictured here outside

I can honestly say it was a superb day and a moving experience for all involved, and our heartfelt thanks go out to all those involved in organising such a great day
As it was a Pilgrimage within the Order, 61 new Knights claimed their Chough badge, to be worn with pride on their Mantle, indicating they had taken part in the Pilgrimage
