The Provincial Charity Committee continues to demonstrate the very best of Freemasonry through its support for the local community.
Recently, WBro John Pawlik and WBro Simon Mattin visited a defibrillator site in Kirby-in-Ashfield established by Holly Younger, whose inspiring charity, Leon’s Legacy, was created following the tragic loss of her father, Leon, a school caretaker who died from a heart attack at a school where a defibrillator might have saved his life.
Five years ago, a grant from the Provincial Charity Committee helped Holly begin her mission. Since then, Leon’s Legacy has installed an impressive 41 life-saving defibrillator units across the area.

After Holly approached Mansfield Charity Hall Stewards—where John serves as Chairman and Simon as Treasurer—a recent Race Night raised £1,800. This enabled the Stewards to present Holly with a £2,000 donation to support further installations and maintain existing units.
This remarkable effort reflects Freemasonry’s enduring commitment to care, compassion, and community support.
