Service of Remembrance Worksop Masonic Hall


We will Remember Them!



The annual Worksop Masonic Club Remembrance Service and lunch returned to the calendar on Sunday the 6th of November, following the “virtual” service due to Covid 19 last year,

On this occasion, the service was led by Reverend Simon Russell from the Chaplaincy service that supports patients and staff in local hospitals.

The event was hosted by W. Bro. David Wall, Assistant PGM, and his wife Editha, Excellent Companion Julian Townsend the Grand Superintendent and Excellent Companion Stephen Haywood Second Provincial Grand Principal and their wives were also in attendance.

Other Honoured guests included R. W. Bro Robin Wilson, Deputy Lieutenant, Councillor Jack Bowker, Chairman of Bassetlaw District Council. Colonel David Sneath (retired) the County President of the Royal British Legion (who led the Act of Remembrance) and Mr Ronald Holdsworth, the County Chairman of the Royal British Legion.


Members of local sea cadets. army cadets and scouts as well as members of the Worksop Branch of the Royal British Legion took part in the service, which was also broadcast live, by Trust AM radio.


After the service, a three Couse lunch was served to 75 people. The proceeds of the offertory and a raffle raised £565.

A cheque for this amount was presented by W. Bro. David Wall toward the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.




Next years’ service and lunch will be held on Sunday the 6th of November 2022
