Sojourner visit to Clifton Chapter

clifton chapter

Clifton Chapter extended an invitation to the Nottinghamshire Sojourners to deliver a lecture at their meeting of the 23rd of June 2017, which was excepted and accordingly companion John Doyle delivered a paper compiled by Companion Anthony Hopewell - Past Second Provincial Grand Principal - entitled ‘The Great or Grand Sanhedrin’.

This paper poses the question, “should it be the Great or Grand Sanhedrin”? The origins and development of the Sanhedrin, along with its purpose and role in modern day Israel, are explored leading the audience to draw their own conclusions.

The paper was warmly received by the eight members of Clifton chapter and two visitors who were present, with a lively debate ensuing both in the temple and at the festive board, which was enjoyed in a very friendly atmosphere where all enjoyed a very pleasant meal.
