Master Mason bides his time to Exaltation

We are grateful to Chris Starnes for pointing out an interesting story from another Province, he had read in Porchway News.

Flight Lieutenant Anthony Newham DFC RAF (retired) was initiated into Greenford Lodge No 4909 in 1961. Unfortunately, because of memory problems caused by an air crash in 1945, he was unable to progress in the Craft, but has always continued his membership.  In 2011 he received his 50 year certificate from his Mother Lodge.

Amazingly, in October last year he was Exalted into his son’s Chapter, Anglo-Colonial No 3175, at the age of 94 years. Broad smiles were seen amongst the Companions in the Chapter when the Most Excellent asked Scribe Ezra if Brother Newham had been a Master Mason for 4 weeks and upwards!

It is never too late; so congratulations, from the Nottinghamshire Province, to Companion Newham on becoming a Royal Arch Mason.
