Holders of the
Provincial Grand Master’s
/Grand Superintendent’s
Certificate of Merit

bob heasonOn Wednesday 28 September, holders of the Provincial Grand Master’s and Grand Superintendent’s Certificate of Merit met for the annual luncheon under the gentle stewardship of W Bro Bert Stringer. W Bro Stringer advised those present of apologies and provided some background on the absence of a number of the group. It was, of course, pleasing to see the majority of those who were invested with the Certificate of Merit at the 2 annual meetings in May this year present at the lunch.

Brethren who attended the Annual General Meeting of the Craft Province on 6 May this year will have heard the Provincial Grand Secretary, W Bro Robert Grummitt, announce that W Bro Bob Heason PAGDC was not well enough to attend the meeting to receive his Certificate of Merit. The Provincial Grand Master together with the Provincial Grand Secretary, visited W Bro Bob on Friday 12 August to present him with the Certificate of Merit. W Bro Bob was in fine form and exhibited his familiar sense of humour together with the pragmatism he demonstrates about his illness. As the Provincial Grand Master remarked at the time, W Bro Heason is a fine role model for tackling adversity head on.

At the conclusion of the lunch, the Provincial Grand Master, on behalf of the Grand Superintendent and the other leaders present, thanked the Certificate of Merit holders for the kind invitation to the gathering and also expressed his gratitude for the continued commitment these senior masons give to the Craft and Royal Arch Provinces.
