Terry Ward retires as Newark Hall Chairman

terrywardTo mark 21 years of service as Chairman of the Newark Masonic Hall Company Ltd., W. Brother Terry Ward and his wife Helen, were guests at a dinner at The Avenue, organised by his fellow directors to mark the occasion.

Terry was presented with a golf trolley, seen receiving it from W. Brother Jim Crossley, the new company chairman (right) with W. Brother Fraser Macintyre who organised the purchase.

In his acceptance speech, Terry commented on the fact that only that week his own golf trolley had broken down and was in a sad condition. It was, he said, a very opportune gift and greatly appreciated. He recalled some of the highlights of his 21 years’ service and thanked the rest of the directors for the help they had given him along the way.

In addition to the golf trolley the directors also presented Terry and his wife Helen with a pair of wine glasses, engraved with the square and compasses and their names and which Terry suggested they may well use every day!
